Snurr Film is an independent creative company founded by Norwegian filmmaker, writer, and musician Geir G. Greni. Working across film, television, theatre, literature, and music, we transform original ideas into distinctive visual stories with a clear voice and lasting emotional impact.

FEATURE FILMS
Umeå4ever
An independently financed romantic comedy from 2011, written, directed, and produced by Geir G. Greni through Snurr Film AS. Distributed by Nordisk Film, the feature was praised for its unconventional approach and described by author Erlend Loe as "perhaps the year's bravest film project.
All Must Die (Alle må dø)
A Norwegian horror feature from 2020, directed by Geir G. Greni and co-written with filmmaker Robert Næss. Blending the familiar elements of a slasher with an original perspective, the film was praised as a solid and engaging genre production for a young audience.
SHORT FILMS
Afterwards (Etter filmen)
A dialogue-driven short film from 1999, directed by Geir G. Greni and co-written with Morten Abrahamsen. Following a group of friends after a visit to the cinema, it captures their generation through natural dialogue, understated humour, and subtle psychological observation.
Party
A short film from 2000, directed by Geir G. Greni and co-written with Morten Abrahamsen. Set within Oslo's 1990s party scene, it offers a satirical look at young intellectuals, social performance, and the desire to be noticed.
Que Serà, Serà
A tragicomic short film from 2002, directed and produced by Geir G. Greni from a screenplay by Bård Breien. It follows the newly elected leader of the Norwegian Esperanto Association as he risks everything to attract new members during the organisation's annual meeting.
Xercise
An experimental short film from 2003, written, directed, and produced by Geir G. Greni. Following a young man running uncontrollably through an urban landscape, it uses the visual form and narrative language of a video game to explore free will.
The Part (Rolle)
A short film from 2004, written, directed, and produced by Geir G. Greni. It follows Anders on his journey home from work, where a frightening encounter with a stranger unexpectedly turns his life upside down.
Together (Sammen)
A Norwegian comedy short from 2004, directed and produced by Geir G. Greni and co-written with Morten Abrahamsen. Featuring Liv Bye Karlsen and Jan Tønnesen, the film continues Greni's understated exploration of humour, psychology, and human relationships.
The Norwegian Film Archive has described Greni's short films as humorous, dialogue-driven works marked by "subtle psychological insight into the complexities of the human mind."
STORY DEVELOPMENT
Storytelling is central to Snurr Film. Founder and CEO Geir G. Greni brings experience from film and literature, including the acclaimed crime novel Jeg ser død, selected for Norway's national library acquisition scheme.
Greni also develops original projects and works as a script consultant, with experience including the NRK comedy series Hubert.
MUSIC
Music is an important part of Snurr Film's creative identity. Founder and CEO Geir G. Greni is the lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter of Norwegian Modesty, whose music appears in Umeå4ever and All Must Die.
Greni has also directed music videos for Minor Majority, Superfamily, and Norwegian Modesty.
Geir Greni
Geir G. Greni is the founder and CEO of Snurr Film AS. A Norwegian filmmaker, writer, journalist, and musician, he brings together experience from film, television, literature, and music to shape the company's creative direction.
His work includes the feature films Umeå4ever and All Must Die, the crime novel Jeg ser død, and several award-winning short films. Before founding Snurr Film, Greni worked as a journalist and television presenter for NRK, contributed to publications including Morgenbladet, Mann, and Filmmagasinet, and reviewed films for NRK P1.
He is currently developing new screenplays for film and television, alongside a new book. His creative approach is defined by atmosphere, emotion, and a curiosity for the unexpected
